Play chess like your life DOESN'T depend on the outcome! Ideal players are adults who know at least the basic rules, but don't take the game too seriously. You should be open to playing with a beer/glass of wine close at hand. You should have a very relaxed attitude about winning/losing. Group leader is a woman. Just for fun, fun, fun, and the chance to stay in practice. BYOCB (bring your own chess board) if possible.

I just moved to Mountain View and would like to find other players. This group will be for anyone interested in chess, bughouse, speed chess or any other variation. Come to meet new people! Games will be friendly and social. Players at all skill levels welcome.

Let's enjoy the beautiful weather, while playing the beautiful game. Maybe even meet some beautiful minds. Any of the local shaded parks in the area sound like a wonderful way to get a little extra vitamin D, while challenging and stimulating your mind and the minds of others. Plus its a great opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversations, since... well you are somewhat of a captive audience while you play! :) Let's have fun! Let's do it!
